In this part of the world where the temperature and climes are never quiet low enough for any extras while dressing, the three piece (a suit containing an inner coat or waist coat) still manages to remain classic and timeless. Timeless in the sense that it is not influenced (well, to a large extent) by climate season.
On the other hand, we can also say the number for formal events an average man from this part of the world would attend is limiting a factor enough, that is another way to look at it, but which ever side your pendulum chooses to swing to, there is no denying the fact that 10 years from now, the three piece would still be the go-to outfit for that big day.
One of the most fascinating things about the three-piece for me is how variable it can be, it allows for easy styling… In fact, you can begin you day with a certain look, and end it with a switch-up (still three-piece).
Not to mention how it sets you apart from the “regular Joe” rocking his two piece the same way for lack of variety. (lol, you know I never pass on an opportunity to reaffirm this particular point.)
In this editorial, where I am collaborating with super model@iamdanielajayi of @ledmodelmgt I am not only trying to sell you on the three piece, I am ultimately selling you on the fact that classic|stylish and expensive|luxurious are nor necessarily synonyms.
I guess what I am trying to say is that we are passed the era of perceiving indigenous brands as less premium or inferior to foreign designer brands, hence we only think we are stylish when we have spent a fortune on designer names. Do not get me wrong, I actually understand the concept of branding and brand positioning, but let’s not under emphasize how much of a strain this can be to our finances.
Indigenous brands are also easier to deal with especially when you want bespoke pieces (which I personally feel is the way to go with a suit) not to mention how cost effective they are more often than not, I mean… Look at me!!! Do I even look like I can afford this version of me? Sigh, I wish my bank account could just look like this at this very moment… Well, no negative vibes right?

Have I been able to sell you on the three-piece? What is your go-to “Sunday best” style inspiration? By the way, I feel like this is the first time I have collaborated with someone on a shoot and … What’s the word; i am trying not to hurt my own feelings here, let’s just say this is the first time I am getting schooled in my own shoot… Not that I am feeling bad or anything, but I definitely would not be collaborating with people like Daniel again… What do you guys think? Hope Daniel didn’t take all of y’all from me, else I would delete this post (shoot! I already dropped his handle…)
